钟博士研究项目的第一个主题旨在了解早期生活压力与社会情绪和健康问题的不同易感性之间的生物心理社会因素，同时告知和优化干预措施。Her work focuses on (1) identifying biopsychosocial factors that shape risk and resilience to socioemotional and health outcomes following exposure to significant life adversity, (2) clarifying within- and between-group differences in psychophysiological stress response, and (3) translating knowledge about biopsychosocial mechanisms into targeted intervention efforts.

为此，Chong博士使用多系统和多方法方法来实现这些目标，包括评估多种生物系统（自主神经、神经内分泌和炎症功能的变化）、行为观察和早期生活压力和结果的自我报告测量。
