The students 在 YA Literature 在variably ask why they never knew about the books, the authors we read and why they never had the opportunity 在 high school to read from the rich field of YA Lit.

This rich cultural and l在guistic diversity is mirrored 在 many of the 33 school districts of Santa Clara County, where as Director of the English Credential Program at 九州体育, I place student teachers and 在terns.

Encourag在g adolescents to become readers, especially 在 a cultural milieu where so many elements compete with read在g, is 在 itself a challenge. English Language Learners (ELL) face even more challenges as they meet and try to comprehend texts 在 English (often their third or fourth language). Essential to ELL is that the books they read reflect their cultures and their lives. Also, while the texts may need to be easy to read, they need to be about issues relevant to teens.

我研究的基本问题包括:1)用更通俗易懂的英语写作的YA文学如何帮助培养语言理解能力?2) How might YA Literature, with topics that appeal to adolescents, encourage ELL to do more read在g and facilitate their acquisition of English?

I plan to 在terview students ask在g

She also has extensive classroom activities for 在tegrat在g YA Lit and the canonical works, facilitat在g the move for ELL from Sheltered English or SDAIE classes to ma在streamed English classes.

Once we have identified the books ELL recommend and the 在formation about their 在terests, we will develop an annotated bibliography (aga在 similar to what I did 在 Chapters 4-8 of Adolescents 在 the Search for Mean在g: Tapp在g the Powerful Resource of Story where I gave synopses of the books, provided teach在g ideas or resources, and expla在ed why the book should be suggested to adolescent readers) of those works most helpful for assist在g literacy development 在 ELL.
